Creating Christmas Spirit !
Yesterday I participated in a community service event at our national treasure Morgan State University with my organization Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated., and collaborated with another organization by the name of Student Open to Unique Love or (S.O.U.L). In the community service, we stuffed stockings for less fortunate kids and watched Christmas movies.
In the stockings, we provided scarves, hats, gloves, candy, and toys and wrote each child a personal holiday note. We donated over 50 stockings to the children and we also made stockings for parents as well. By far this is my favorite community service for the wintertime. I enjoy giving back to those who are less fortunate, all children deserve to have a Christmas even if it's small. Communities gather throughout the holidays to rejoice and spread happiness. Due to Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., being based on community service giving back makes us feel more a part of the community and fortifies our relationships, which makes the atmosphere more cohesive and encouraging. Over the holidays, a lot of people and families could experience an increase in emotional or financial stress. Giving back helps to meet the needs of others who might be having difficulties, easing their suffering and improving everyone's enjoyment of the season.
